  1. Dejavu? I think I answered this question a few minutes ago.=P

Yes you can still use your passport if you're going to HK on Aug.23. The only time you need your passport be valid for at least 6 months is if you are to apply for visa for another country. Since you don't need visa if you are going to HK (that is if you are Filipino), you can still use your passport. Even if you reschedule your flight to Dec. 23, you're still be allowed to enter HK.

  2. it is not a question of whether you will be allowed entry to HKG if your passport expires within six months of your travel ...

the question is whether the philippine immigration will allow you to leave the country with less than six months before your passport expires ... and the answer is NO !!

you will not be allowed to leave the country if your passport expires within six months from the date of your travel ... simple immigration guidelines ...

you have to have your passport renewed ... but i really doubt if you still can make it, not with the new Machine Readable Passport process of the DFA ... today, regular processing time is within 5-6 weeks ... and rush processing may take 2-3 weeks ... the only way you can expedite that is if you know someone within the DFA which could facilitate ... then maybe, you can get your passport within 7 days ...

of course, for an additional fee ...

go to manila on the 10th so you will be at DFA office early monday morning ... and start calling friends from the DFA ...

    good luck ...

You can still use your passport but if you are not too comfortable with it and quite unsure is you will be permitted entry in HK, then have your passport renewed. Hire and agency to process your application and ask them to rush it. Since you're familiar that the expedited processing time would be 7 days, and its August 7 today, or August 8, do the math! You can have your passport ready before you leave for HK.
