Going to india?

I have just started saving for a trip to india with my mother. but i dont where i could find the round trip ticket prices and also we would like to travel through india on like a train or something that stops in different major cities or landmarks.

our current time limit is 2 weeks in the country (maybe less depending on money). if you have been to india i would love some advice.

DO NOT TRAVEL BY TRAIN!! i cannot stress this point enough. they are painstakingly slow and so take days to get anywhere. the one i was on was overtaken by a man on his donkey. the conditions on the trains are also bad and so make the whole experiance a holiday ruiner.

flights within india are cheap as chips, much better form of travel

I would read about the country before you go over there.  Customs, travel, safety, learn a bit of their Hindu culture, and so on.
