posted this in the wrong section last time. anyway... i thought about bringing them as a gift for the family I will be staying with. I know that there are sometimes restrictions when bringing in animals/food into another country... will this be an issue?

  1. no

there would be no way to bring them with you and i don't think that you can bring live food products overseas

  2. I would suggest bringing something typically American that isn't alive. Baseball caps, footballs, baseballs, etc. That way you save yourself a big headache.

  3. You would have to check with customs and the airlines to find out.

  4. A big no. <*-*>

  5. You cannot travel with fresh foods to Italy. Note that you can easily and everyday buy lobster in the Italian fish markets. Save the Custom's hassles and buy some lobsters when you get to italy.

PS - how in blazes did you plan to take some live lobsters with you - on ice? What if you got bumped? What is you got stuck somewhere along your way there?

  6. no

  7. No, you cannot do this.

You cannot bring raw/live meat, fresh fruits nor plants through customs.  Not only will it be confiscated but you could be fined.

  8. Sounds a bit dodgy.  In any case why would you want to?  They have lobster there.  Maybe you should wait and buy some at the market.
