  1. all places are quite hot so light clothing but nothing too 'beachy' as this tends to be frowned upon in cities and can attract too much attention.....linen, cotton, flip flops or scandals, anti mosquito lotion or spray and always a bottle of water! its about 30 degrees oC today and very humid.....all these places are full of tourists at this time of year!

  2. I'm in italy now,so i can solve some question....In june in Italy is hot,but now the weather isn't good...so I think you need the classic t-shirt,mini,some glamour top, but remember a jacket for the night...sometimes rain and the temperature go down..

Palermo is very very very hot!!!

All the cityes are touristy, expectially roma and firenze..the people don't like that tourist call their city whit other name..for ex..my city is Padova but tourist call it Padua..I can't sopport this! So if you go to Florence call it Firenze...

If you have a little dictionary it can be very useful...

    Excuse my terrible english...

  3. Yeah, the places you're going to are very very touristy!!! Especially  Rome and Florence! It'll be very hot there, from Florence to Palermo, so you should wear tank tops, mini skirts, even shorts if you want (although Italians don't wear them). If you go to the vatican you shouldn't wear shorts or skirts that are too short, and a normal t-shirt, or they won't let you in. For the rest, you can also wear nice comfortable dresses and remember comfortable shoes to walk...maybe a pair of low wedges would be nice if you still want to be trendy.

    Have a nice trip!

  4. Italy is hot and muggy in the summer. Italians are very fashionable so it sounds like you will fit right in. Here are a few tips for you:

    A few tips:

-- You can never go wrong with black.

-- Italians don't do over-sized t-shirts or tank tops that aren't fitted or tailored. They also don't wear shorts (although a new trend is the kind of short/capri pant that hits just below the knee).

-- As I said, summer is hot and sticky. Some nice dresses or skirts and tops will keep you cool but not have you stick out as a tourist.

-- Always carry a wrap (scarf) to wrap around your shoulders or around your waist to go into churches. No bare arms/shoulders or short skirts allow.

-- Italian women accessorize -- so a put together look with sunglasses, headbands, jewelry belt, etc. will make you look more local. And for easy packing bring neutral colors that mix and match and then use accessories to change your outfit (I'm starting to feel like a Glamour article but I guess they are right.)

-- You'll be doing a lot of walking so shoes are important, but Italians don't wear sneakers (unless they are expensive designer sneakers). This is where I would recommend you invest a bit in a very comfortable pair of all-purpose walking shoes or sandals. I like Ecco, Clarks, Geox -- all expensive brand names but your feet will thank you (although I got a great pair of black Clarks at TJ Maxx for $20 so if you search you may get lucky).

-- Don't carry a backpack. This signals you out as a tourist and actually is less safe than a shoulder bag that you hold close to your body and always keep a hand on.

Here are a couple of links to outfits that you could get away with in Rome and not scream, "tourist" just to get you started:

  5. in rome in june is put the short t-shirt and short skirt and the place very touristy long jeans light  to summer

  6. I spend every summer in Italy, Leaving in 3 weeks, so I can tell you that Its very Trendy, they dont wear sweat pants and sneakers...It is Hot, but notunbearable in June ....Its like it would be if you lived in the Northeast.....So what would you wear out at night in your own city????

  7. it is hott in june likee it is in florida or hawaii. reds are always cute and maybe a smaller handbag with a dark bamboo handle and you would be bella! magnifico! italy is a popular tourist spot. so if you feel a bit out of place not to worry they are used to it and wont say eww how ugly. or curse at you.

    hope this helps

ps flip flops cotton super minis= no no no

  8. It will probably be hot, so when traveling anywhere, pack light. Remember you can buy anything there and Italy has some great fashion. Bring clothes that are transformable, simple patterns and textures, and that will basically go with any article of clothing. Comfortable sandals or flip flops when you are walking around and some cute sandal like heels that are comfortable. Shoes are beautiful there as well and very well made.
