  1. I'm going in July!

  2. There are two jazz clubs I'm aware of - Ronnie Scott's and the Dover Street Wine Bar http://www.doverst.co.uk/.  You will need to book in advance for Ronnie Scotts.  There are a few comedy clubs in London but again, you'll have to book in advance.  The Comedy Store is the most famous near Leicester Square and there is also a Jongleurs up in Camden.  As for cheap things to do - how about free?  All the art galleries and museums are free and only ask for donations.  Visit the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the V&A museum.  They're all next to each other in Kensington.

  12. During the day I would recommend a walk down the South Bank. Get off the tube at Embankment, walk across the bridge and then stroll down towards Tate Modern (which is free). There are lots of little shops and bits along the way to entertain you and it is a lovely walk along the river, ending at Tate Modern for some cool art and then across the wobbly bridge to St Pauls.

Followed by an evening at Ronnie Scotts in Soho.

    Sounds fabulous to me!

  13. Ronnie Scott's is pretty good... See link below:

  14. Jongleurs is the national chain of comedy pubs and there are some in London. The best one for me is the one in Camden. The one in Battersea, just near Clapham Junction, is good too.

  15. I send my condolences.
