  1. It would be quite a distance to go to Palma for the day to see the cathedral etc  but there isn't much near alcudia except  Porta Pollensa, can pickafort and old alcudia.

  2. The mountains in Mallorca are stunning. I never go to the coast, I always head to the mountains. There are some great places to see once you get away from the hordes on the beach.

  3. Magaluf ful of bars and discos good for nights out and decent fod as well very lively at night.

  4. For some cultural immersion in Majorca, head to the northwest coast to some secluded coves and several quaint old towns and villages. The interior of Majorca is still teeming with an agricultural community that prizes their windmills, olive and almond trees.

  5. I would suggest a trip to Soller. You can have a coffee or beer at one of the lovely restaurants in the old town square, or lunch - went to Cafe Soller last time and it was lovely. You can then take the 100 year old tram down to the port area. There is a lovely beach there where you can swim, some nice restaurants and some shops to browse in. From the port area you can take a number of boat trips. I would suggest a trip to Sa Calobra, which is a really stunning inlet hidden in the mountains and accessible by boat or by a very scary drive through the mountains (did that once, never again - I cried all the way there and back!).

Soller is truly lovely,  a wide sweeping bay with the wonderful back drop of the mountains. I think you will that both adults and kids have a lovely day out.

  6. Puerto pollensa is very nice, as is Pollensa town and both close to Alcudia.
