  1. If you're flying to Cancun, there are a lot of places to see and things to do in that area:  Cancun's beaches and night life, Playa del Carmen (my favorite place), the pyramids of Chichen Itza (a must!), the pyramids of Coba (take a tour--it's easier), Tulum and its lovely ruins overlooking the beach, Isla Mujeres for snorkeling.  As of last year, Cozumel's reefs had not recovered from Hurricane Wilma, so it's probably not worth the time, effort and money to go.  If you want to see something more "mexicano", head to the city of Merida or cruise the little town of Valladolid.  Food in the Yucatan is very good--one of my favorites is relleno *****.  Public transport is good, and the people outside of Cancun are a lot friendlier than a lot of areas in Mexico.  Have some fun for me!

  3. It depends on where in Mexico you are going.  If you are going to Cabo or Cancuun, that's great.  But if you are going to Juarez or Tijuana, I'd say cancel and go somewhere else.

  4. In the night go to COCO BONGO, is the best disco club in Cancun, is the ultimate nightlife experience, here is the website:

    http://www.cocobongo.com.mx/home.php?Len...

Is like a mix between Studio 54 and Hollywood

  5. There is a sweet little restaurant in the middle of Cancun, right across the street from the bus station.  It is called Chacmool, and the upstairs is a hostel, and the first floor is a hip, open air restaurant with kickass locals and awesome food.  Check it out!

  6. Stay safe. Know what you are doing and how you do it. Go to Mexico City, it's fun there.

You should do some research. Go to the library and look up books on Mexico, traveling, etc. they are very informative, then do the research online.

  7. Ive been in Mexico a lot of times and I absolutely love this country. But its really big and two weeks is not enough to see all the things that is worth seeing in Mexico. But for you to get the most out of the vacation I have some tips for you. I just did the same route myself in two weeks, so I know that its a safe "youre gonna love it" trip. First you can take the flight to Puerto Escondido. Its a really nice town next to the Pasific in the state Oaxaca. A lot of tourist and backpackers come here but you still get to experience the local touch of Mexico too. If you want to leave cheap the hostel shalom is a really good place to stay and its close to a nice beach called carizalillo. If you want something nicer Hotel Ines at Zicatela is a good choice. It has some nice places to go out to eat there too (el jardin, K-fe, juqilena) and to take a drink or dance (casa babylon, Barfly, Wipeout). Btw, if your a girl you will love all the s**y surfers there. And if your a boy and dont care about them you can maybe learn to surf there yourself at Carizalillo (if you dont already know how to do it). From Puerto you can go San Cristobal de las Casa, thats a really nice city up in the mountain with little houses and nice churches and buildings. From there you can travel to Palenque and get to see the maya ruins that is there. They are really beutiful and so special with some nice jungle. I really recommend it. You can also visit the waterfalls agua azul that has a really nice blue colour and its safe to cool down there if you watch out when it comes to the current (but no crocodiles etc). Misholha and agua clara is nice to see to. From Palenque you can take the bus to Tulum and get a taste of the relaxed life of the caribean. I stayed at a place on the beach called the Diamante K and I loved it. Its so beautiful and quite. But bring mosquito repellient. I went to a beach in Tulum that is the most beautiful beach I ever been to. There you can also see the mayan ruins next to the turquise coloured sea and get some really nice pictures to show the people at home. Next to the Diamante K is a really good thai restaurant that you have to try if you like thai food. And the fish Morro is really good when you are at the Caribean side. From there you can do some partying in Playa del Carmen if you want to go out and dance and after that visit Isla de Mujeres that goes from a ferry from Cancun. Really nice place and the Rolands is a nice place to stay and eat. They have really good Pizza. After all this places you can get to enjoy Mexico City for two days before you had back home. There is a lot things to see there. It all depends on what you like. F.ex History (Museum of antrophology, Tenochitlán) Art (Museum of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera). Plaza mayor and the cathedral is nice too. I hope you enjoy it. Most people are really nice, but you always have to be careful. I advice you to follow your stomach feelings. When you take buses take the best ones. There safe. When me and my friend (two blond girls from norway) traveled this route we also traveled the safe buses at night. Everything went really good. Be careful showing people that you have a lot of money and dont use jewlery or expensive watches. Be yourself, but respect that you are in a different country and everything will go smooth. Im sure you will have memories for life. (If you dont speak spanish bring a dictionary, for sure you will meet people that dont speak english). Good luck and safe trip:)
