  1. everywhere here u can exchange canadian money for pesos

u cannot pay with canadian money

in some places like the riviera maya u can pay everywhere with american money

in any hotel u can exchange money but they usually dont take coins and u cant exchange it back 2 canadian ( but in the airport or exchange houses)

ull get a better rate of exchange in the airport than in hotels

  2. Sorry, we won't take canadian dollars at stores. Lola told you that already. Is uncommon to see canadian dollars here.

You could change it at the airport; but actually here in México we are more used to US dollars.

Whatever, you could bring a card (credit or debit) and take pesos at any ATM, or pay with the card. I've gone to Canada and US (I'm mexican) and I only carried few dollars with me, I've taken money at ATMs in both countries. Someone will tell you that is more expensive, but is more comfortable, easy and safe. At any hotel you can find ATMs, or inside stores like Wall-Mart and others.

  3. Don't be such a tourist.  Exchange your money into Pesos at the airport when you get there.  Exchange it back when you leave.

    Cheers.

  4. You can take it, but most places love the American dollar so I would either take that or get pesos. I guess it depends on where you go in Mexico. The border towns arond here are used to American cash and actually prefer it. They might not have as many resources to use Canadian cash with and would have a harder time with using it, so I think it'd just confuse everyone and the exchange rate would get all wacky especially in smaller towns.

  5. Canadian dollars may be changed without problems at any exchange bureau at airports and touristic areas. However, the US dollar is the most widely traded foreign currency, so the rate of exchange is slightly better if you change US dollars than Canadian dollars. In some touristic zones, stores and cab drivers are willing to take US dollars, but may not accept Canadian.

  6. BEST way is to bring your atm card and use it to get pesos out as needed...you get the best exchange rate that way...and no, canadian dollars are not accepted.  if you pay in U.s. dollars in the tourist towns, you will pay  MORE for everything as they just figute the rate at 10 pesos per dollar when it is really almost 11 pesos per dollar.

  7. Yes, you can bring Canadian. You will get more for your dollar, however with American.

  8. I would bring US... no canadian...
