  1. Depends on what you're looking for or would enjoy most. My husband  & I rented an apt. in the Marais section and loved it but had time to travel other places. Consult a Frommer's guide and look up what's in both areas. You may decide to spend one day in each. Bon Voyage!

To stay in- Le Marais-close to so much

  2. Montmatre, its gorgeous and has the sacre coeur... i went in early may... it has cheap picturesque cafes and is affordable for food and drink etc... it has good tube access, and also is what i think is the most culturally diverse part of paris... there is the moulin rouge and as i mentioned before the sacre coeur, if you climb the montrmatre hill on the other side is the last "village in paris" with normal houses and parisians... up the hill are steep cobbled winding paths, and at the top are courtyards with artists and street performers etc... i fell in love with that area, i definatley reccomend it. do a quick google search on montmatre

  3. le marais !!!!!

  4. Bothare the BEST areas to be in,... esp on Sunday bc the remainding parts - the toursit thingys are closed. The Marais has all the open cae;s that are open as well as the boutiquestores.

The Latin Qt is mainly the food area and no stores are open.

    Good Luck

    Boin soir

    Avoir Bon voyage :-)

  5. Le marias.  I am sorry for being opinionated, but no if, no but.

And beside, latin quarter is only 15 minutes walking.

  6. They are both right across the river from each other.  You can go from one to the other easily on foot and experience both neighborhoods equally well.  It is not like they are across town or something like that.  They are both nice areas.  Since the neighborhoods are so close I would pick where ever you get a better deal.   Then you can explore both areas at your leisure.

  7. Le Marais is near Le Quartier Latin : 15 minutes on foot.

So you don't have to choose.

  8. Latin Quarter is the best. You're near the Notre Dame and all relevant sights. Great cafes and bistros everywhere.

  9. Last century (19th), Mr Hausman took most of the historic city to the ground to build it anew. Most but not all, and Le Marais retains many ancient buildings that are really worth a visit.

I would stay in Le Marais.

    Far less scums around too.
