  1. Hi, Yes you can bring alcohol back home within the acceptable limits of quantity.

The typical Dominican (major) rum brands are:

    1. BARCELO (I prefer this one)

    2. BRUGAL

Both brands have also a 'Licor de rum' wich is very good, but a bit expensive.

"Mama Juanna" is also a typical rum based alcohol. You can buy the wood extracts and add back home the rum and honey

and keep it like that (ferment) for about 6 months.

I hope this helped a bit.

  2. Yes of course you can

  3. Airlines don't care how much you bring, but customs does.  Check with them for the latest rules, but it is something like one liter of spirits or two litres of wine or one case of beer.

  4. It is fine because I brought back wine to the states and they never checked my bag.

  5. You can bring alcohol back but you need to check it. Wrap it good in bubble wrap and put it in the center of your suitcase.

We use to be able to carry it on but not any more. If you purchase liquor at the airport after security, you may be able to carry it on.

    enjoy)
