  1. You should definetely visit the Colosseum, The Roman Forum, the Vatican and its museums, the Piazza de Spanga, The Pantheon. There are daily sightseeing tours and l suggest to visit places with one( it's easy - fast and exciting)http://www.viator.com/Rome/d511-ttd  http://www.rome-day-tours.com/?gclid=CIH...

check the link which helped me a lot when l visited Rome http://www.romanhomes.com/your_roman_vac...

Also as far as it concerns hotels there are plenty in the city centre such as the Augusta Lucilla Palace, Hotel Mondial Best Western, Rome Hotel Londra & Cargill, Hotel Palladium Palace etc

The weather in Oct is a bit unstable, rainy but with high possibility of having sunshine

  2. I went in February a few years ago now but it was warm enough to just wear a t shirt and be comfy. So a little warmer than here but could get chilly at night.

Most of the places to go are quite obvious really. I was there for a week and didn't get to see everything but was sight seeing everyday. I went to St Peters Square which is just a must. I climbed right up - nearly a 1000 step would you believe but when you get to the top you get to see the wole city - it really is amazing.

Then there is the Trevi Fountain also - now i looked for this but couldn't find it and i was with someone from Rome!!! Was a bit disappointed really but still i tried!

Had a great time and would recommend the place to anyone - watch out for the bloomin mopeds that zip in and out though!! lol!!
