Going to school to be a RN?

Hi,

I'm going to school to become an rn but i have a few questions... i'm starting on my pre req classes but i wanted to know what are some good things to do to make sure you get into the program.. i wanted to know what are some of the good volunteer work you can do..

also.. i'm about to take some classes to be a CNA do you think that will look good for me and if it does do you think i will still need to volunteer somewhere.. i don't think i will be able to handle the classes working as a CNA and also volunteering..

what do i need to do to get into the program.. someone please help..

  1. You need to focus on your grades the most. I would not take a volunteer job and work while you are in school. I am a nursing student as well. It is competitive, but if you try to juggle too much at one time you are going to mess up on one of them. I would just work and go to school. If you can afford to do it I would only work part time. When you get into nursing school you are going to have clinicals and it is just like working only for free plus you will have all your school work. Focus the most on your actual grades. Try to get the highest GPA you can. It will not look good to have failing or average grades and be a volunteer. Also, I would try to save up as much as I could so you can work less while you are in nursing courses. Trust me you will want that once you realize how hard it is. Good Luck Future Nurse!!
