  1. Eiffel Tower – preferably early morning to avoid queues or evening to admire the tower itself lit up.

A boat on the Seine allows you to see many sights from the boat but may take up a lot of your time. If you are there in the evening then have your evening meal on a restaurant boat – sights and good food at the same time. The boats go just a few yards from the Eiffel Tower.

Otherwise the Montmartre area http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montmartre you can see the Sacré Coeur, the mime artists and musicians and then go round the back and see the artist area. Then wander round the back streets up there – you could be in a little village! There is also a great view of the Paris roof tops from the top of the steps – it’s just so… Parisian.

  2. Start at Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cite then see Sainte Chapelle. Walk along the north side of the Ile de la Cite to see the Conciergerie (where Marie antoinette was imprisoned) then go to the Parc de Vert Galante at the west end of the Ile. There you can take a ride on the Vedettes de Pont Neuf (this takes about an hour). Walk to and thru the Louvre (just to see the building exterior) under the Arc du Carousel thru the Tuileries Gardens to the Place de la Concorde (where the guillotine stood during the Terror) then up the Champs elysee to the Arc de Triomphe (window shopping along the way) to the Arc de Triomphe. Take the Metro to the Place Trocadero and the Palais de chaillot where you can see the best view of the Eiffel Tower which will be directly across the river. Walk down to the river and cross to see the Tower. Take the RER from the Champs de Mars station to St. Michel. Walk south (away from the river) up the Blvd. St. Michel. See the Cluny museum and old Roman baths. continue walking to the Luxembourg Gardens to see the Medici Palace (now the French Senate) then walk up the rue Souflot to the Pantheon. Walk to the right of the Pantheon and down to the rue Descarte and have a bite to eat at my favorite little restaurant La Methode (2 rue Descarte).

  3. Oh a day is not nearly enough. I suggest doing the Seine Cruise, I prefer at night but they do have day trips. You will be able to see the majority of Paris on the cruise.

Honestly, the Eiffle Tower, unless you really want to go up there, seeing it from the cruise, was good enough for me.

I would do at lease one musuem, my favorite is the Musuee D'Orsay. The art and sculptures are amazing. Also the architecture of the building inside is incredible.

Also, go to the Jurden du Tuilieries, its a huge park wher everyone goes. People are drinking wine, having picnics, drinking coffee, or just stopping for a ice cream which is amazing.

you can go to www.frommers.com for information on all attractions. Have fun!
