  1. I have heard that if you stay in the Comfort Inn near Atlantis in Nassau, then you can use the Atlantis facilities, without the extremely high cost of Atlantis.

It's important to know which island - the above advise applies only if it is Nassau.  The islands are pretty widely situated.

  2. Check out the sheraton at Cable Beach, or for a smaller property, check Compass Point.

The downtown Hilton may also be a good alternative without the high prices.

Of course, this time of year, you can bet the prices will be double what they are any other time of the year.

Keep in mind that the bahamas is a very expensive island, so dining options are usually quite expensive.

Check the tripadvisor site for more details and dining options.

  3. Cable Beach is OK. There are lots of package deals there. I found it cheap, but try to find a hotel with American help. Sorry, I just had a bunch of bad customer service experiences with the locals.

I prefer St. Croix (USVI) over any place in the Bahamas. Most of the hotels outside of town have shuttles to town and you don't need a car. And Buck Island National Reef is amazing. Yes, it is more expensive, but I found it more then worth it.

  4. Stay at Sandals. All-inclusive. Bahamas is not a cheap island.

Sounds like you're going to have a great time. Congrats to the newlyweds.)
