There are no staple marks or green paper strips in my passport. I am returning next year to see relatives with a new passport.

I flew from cleveland to mineapolis, then onto london with northwest airlines. Do they normally collect the i-94w at the internation flight boardng gate?

Has anyone ever just thrown away the i-94w when they got home and had no probs when going back to the US? please help

  1. Hi,

In case u havent submitted your I 94 there is a chance that they may question you at the border control/ immigration counter. if you explain to them the circumstances and the same are genuine there would not be any problem.

i am a frequent visitor to the US and for some reason the airline namely airfrance did not submit my i 94 though they collected the same at check in. when i returned they asked me wether i submited my i 94 and i said yes and there were not further questions... if i were you i would carry documentation of details to prove that i left the country within the stipulated period of time and just let them know that u gave it at check in.

  2. Things have changed greatly since 1993 (actually since 9/11) and you need to check with the nearest US Embassy or Consulate.

Even if your departure from the USA was not recorded, there is a procedure for registering "late".
