  1. THERE IS A HOTEL ON NORTH WALL QUAY NOT FAR FROM THE POINT, THE NAME ESCAPES ME AT THE MO BUT I WOULD IMAGINE IT WONT BE CHEAP.. GREAT HOTEL THOUGH.

  2. the closest hotel that I can think of is the Clarion hotel, but for value, I'd suggest Jury's Inn.  It's fairly basic, but you get the standard stuff, like a comfy bed and also a bath, which is a must in any accommodation! also tv, etc. Fairly standard stuff.  Has an ok bar downstairs.  I can't fault it for functionality.  costs about €30 less than the Clarion, which is a little bit fancier (but not much) and is literally next door to Jury's.

Good luck.  Dublin is great craic.  I've lived here for 10 years now.

I've just read "about me"'s suggestion.  DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO OUT AS FAR AS NEWLAND'S CROSS.  IT WILL COST YOU A FORTUNE IN TAXI FARES (IF YOU CAN GET A TAXI, THAT IS)  STAY IN TOWN.

  3. Bewleys at Newlands Cross situated on th Naas road. There are also a number of reasonable B & Bs on Lansdowne road, not far from Port Dublin and the Point.

  4. if you are on a budget I would recommend Abbey Court Hostel point is not that far from the city centre its just up along the keys

  5. there are lots of hotels, look in the temple bar area ... temple bar hotel, the morgan hotel (slightly expensive) but v. modern
