To go to amd from Mexico by LAND, you need a photo I.D. and a proof of citizenship...EITHER a passport OR a birth certificate. See site below for current info.

You need a a passport or state issued id along with your birth certificate. If you are not a U.S. citizen you need a visa or green card. Remember to never drink form the tap, buy bottled water. If you're going to Revolution Av. don't accept help from strangers when going to the ATM (including other "tourists"), and don't drive drunk. If you're going on foot, park your car in San Ysidro, then cross walking to Tijuana, avoid the yellow cabs which will charge you an exorbitant amount, use the ones that have LIBRE on the side, these are metered and way cheaper.
