  1. try to find some one that has din in it and learn what you can

  2. the first clas you should get experience in would be in Ballet...a lot dances have a lot to do with flexibility and posture...thats the first place to start...than work your way to Hip Hop, thats a good work out, big time...good luck!

  3. you should take some jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop classes. because dance teams do lots of combinations of them.

make sure you do your splits everyday the more you practice the better you will  get. make sure to build up leg and arm muscles. push ups..for arms if you are able to get near any equipment thats perfect. to get healthy make sure to excercise and eat right and get good sleep the day before you try out =]

  4. You could try a variety of dance classes to prepare.  If I were you I would take ballet as one of these classes (if you take more than one).  Ballet is the foundation and origin of all dance, so it would definitely help, even though it's probably very different from what your dance team is doing.   Also, yoga helps with flexibility, strength (which is most definitely essential in dance), and it really helps you to stop stressing and relax.  So I would definitely recommend yoga as well.  Running is also a really good way to prepare.  A runner's legs are very strong, and very helpful in dance.  And that's just one benefit.  One more thing, when you'd rather have fun than exercise, hit the pool with your friends.  That way you'll be exercising and having fun at the same time.  Oh, and when doing hard tricks (if you're not very flexible) such as splits and high kicks, do NOT push it.  If you have never accomplished a split before, don't try to go all the way down.  Just practice a little bit every day, (don't go all the way down!) and soon you'll be able to do it.  If you push yourself farther than you can go, even by a little, it can end up in all kinds of injuries.  Remember to practice!  I hope this helps! Good luck!
