  1. If you can't afford a fancy school go to a public one. But private schools tend to be better because there are less students and your professor will be able to acknowledge you more specifically.

  2. Depends on the state, depends on the school. Usually private schools are going to be smaller is population. I went to a public university and there were 23,000 people there. Whatever is your preference.

  3. I would suggest going to a public university because tuition is cheaper than a private. Plus, you can probably get more scholarships with a public university.

  4. It depends - there are some great public universities such as University of California Los Angeles, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina, University of Michigan. And then, there are some fantastic private universities such as the ivy leagues, New York University, Georgetown, etc. Some public universities will cost the same as private universities because you will be considered an out-of-state student for tuition purposes. And out-of-state tuition is usually three or four times more than in-state tuition. Focus on what or where you would like to study, the features you are looking for in a university, and then take a look at their tuition costs. This should allow you to narrow down your choices.

    Good luck!

  5. If you are coming from England, you are going to pay out-of-state tuition, which can easily more than double the cost of your education in comparison with in-state.  I personally would go with a public uni because I don't think a private one is worth the amount of money you would be paying just to have the name on your diploma.
