I feel my life is very boring. Go to work Mon-Fri and doing the same stuff over and over again. Switch to another job and everything repeats itself. I can't let myself doing this for the rest of my life. I want excitement and adventure.

  1. d**n dude, I know exactly what your saying.  I like to look at my parents, bosses, and other people to kind of develope a concept of how they deal with the "daily grind."  Work is work until you get a used to it.  Win the Powerball for me and we can buy an island and drink beer all day long...now thats the life, lol!

  2. It beats graduating from college, going to graduate school, getting your teaching degree and then being a stay-at-home dad for the last 12 years.

    Trust me!

  3. I will do that one day but for now i have joined the Army and am doing my second combat tour in Djibouti and have volunteered to go to Iraq after this to have done 3 tours, its not a 9 to 5 job,

  4. same for me try to read book it work

  5. Everyone wants excitement and adventure... but you've got to make it for yourself.  For some people the excitement they get is doing something as simple as trying a new pizza place once a week, or setting up an e*trade account, perhaps doing something more spontaneous like picking up and moving to a new city.  There's different ways to generate excitement.

The adventure part might not be that easy.  Don't look at other people's jobs or responsibilities or lifestyles and think the grass is always greener, all the time.  They have to put up with the same stress you do, answer to the same kind of people and do their job to the best of their ability in the same ways.

If you watch a lot of movies or TV, I would suggest cutting that time in half, or stopping altogether... its pushes people to fathom unrealistic expectations of the people and scenarios they encounter in real life.  Law Enforcement people hardly ever get to play 'good cop, bad cop'.  Most CEO's of companies don't jet set around the world every day, they work about 60 to 80 hours a week.  Doctors and ER staff aren't constantly saving lives, but rather convincing mothers that their child's cold is in fact, just a cold.

Whenever I get disparaged about what I'm doing I always think of my buddy's dad.  He's a mailman in my hometown and one of the happiest guys I know.  Anyone could do his job really, he isn't incredibly vital, all he has to do is put paper envelopes in boxes.  Every day is seemingly the same for him but he focuses on the positive things about his job and stays motivated to improve on the day before.

Try this:  buy a calendar of the entire year.  One that fits on ONE page.  Come up with list of things you want to do (just as you would errands on a given day of the week) and highlight the days.  Whether its a vacation, dinner with friends, finishing a book, buying something really cool on EBay, or saving x amount of dollars; looking at a highlighted series of dates will serve to reinforce that you have a deadline coming.  It will inject some purpose into every day of your life, and may cause you to meet interesting people, necessitate going to exciting places, falling into adventurous situations, and possibly even create some notoriety for your name.

  6. take a vacation man! travel to someplace that you never thought you would go. expand your mind. then when you are not working, do the same.do things you would never have normally done.

  7. i hate the 9 to 5, 5 day a week life, you have what 4/5 hours a day to your self. you have 2 weeks in a year off and your under so much pressure to enjoy it that you can't. saturday is your only free day, because sunday is spent thinking, tut i have to get up early for work in the morning.

  8. Do something you love, then it's not so bad, if you are a creative person, find a job that lets you create.  Or you could always be a burden on society and do what you want.

  9. Work is just a means to get money and have a life outside work.
