  1. You get tickets cheaper when you book them in advance but you might have left it a bit late .

Check at your local station or on-line through thetrainline.com

  2. Google it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  3. You have left it far to late to book the cheaper advance tickets. These are normally available 6-8 weeks in advance. Tickets you purchase on the day are far more expensive than ones booked in advance.

Are you limited to travelling by train? If not use the Megabus from London Victoria to Edinburgh. A single ticket will cost you £14.50

  4. The cheapest way would be to get a railcard (only if it will pay for itself in the year) just remember to check fares 12wks before you travel you can usually get cheap ones then either that or go by National Express, you can get an open return on the National Express for this journey for £47 which is porbably half of what it would be by train

  5. You will be lucky at this late stage.

I would expect the cheapest fare to be a Saver Return with the restrictions of travelling between 10.30 - 1530 and from 20.00 in evening from Kings Cross. if your travelling any other time of day it will be the FULL standard fare.

The only other way to do it would be to obtain a Young Persons Discount Card (if you are under 25), a Senior Citizens Card (Over 60), or one of the other specific discount cards like Family, Forces, Disabelled, etc.

You can buy a Saver Return and Standard on the day of departure, however you will not get a seat reservation then, which are free, they must be booked before 15.00 preferably the day before travel (recomend as the trains can get quite full).

If you are travelling over a long journey next time try to check and book tickets up to 6 weeks in advance as the cheap ones especially to the bigger destinations areas go fast.

  6. It can be cheaper to fly.  Check out Easyjet.  Sod the emissions.
