  1. all the above

  2. I think you have your planning just right. Unless you want to visit Australia Zoo which you would do a trip from brisbane then you may want an extra day there. If you are in Brisbane at the weekend then They have the markets along South Bank but if not a wander along South Bank is lovely also you can ferry along the river. GoldCoast has a huge amount of places to Visit or see . Shop At harbour Town and pacific Fair. Both are completely different. Wander around Broad beach There are the theme parks wild life at Currumbin. . A lovely walk along marine parade from the Grand hotel. Over near Seaworld is marina mirage. you may spot a celebrity. But it really is nice to wander around the Marina. and the beaches are beautiful. Have a lovely holiday you will

  3. The GC is a very 'tourist' oriented area. Brisbane itself, while nice, is the sort of place where people live and work. Most of the unique attractions are within an hour or so's drive of Brisbane, but not actually 'in' Brisbane.  Brisbane itself is a city just like any other working city.

  4. They are pretty close together, you can do both! If you have a hire car you can drive between them both in an hour.

  5. The tourist areas of south-east Queensland are the Sunshine Coast 1 hour north of Brisbane and the Gold Coast 1 hour to the south. There are far more things to do on the two coasts than in Brisbane itself - we don't need tourist things here as we can get in a car and go to either coast within an hour. In Brisbane, there is Southbank and the cultural precinct, the Brisbane River, Mt Coottha lookout, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and the offshore islands. On the coasts, there are theme parks, zoos, sanctuaries and all manner of other tourist things as well as the magnificent beaches.

  6. Yeah, the Gold Coast is very much tourist friendly theirs heaps to do e.g. Theme Parks, Outback Spectacular, Surfers Paradise, pacific fair and the beaches.

Brisbane is more for shopping and business, their are no good beaches theme parks at all. But it only takes 50 minutes to get between surfers and the center of Brisbane down the Pacific highway or the train.
