Gold Finch, Farloe Tango and Imperial Boy conquered Nottingham on 9th
April, 2012
Gold Finch aced the Grade OR Betfred.com Sprint Trophy Final, which took place at Nottingham on 9th April, 2012, at 21:22 GMT, which she entered with the odds of 6 to 1.
Trained by P. Broome, the daughter of Tyrur Lomu, out of Sophies Spice, whelped in November 2008, completed the 305 metre course clocking a terrific time of 18.08 seconds.
With her brisk pace, she set the track ablaze, leaving the competition struggling to keep up with her.
Glengall Flash, son of Tomokee Flash, out of Shivering Star, gave her a tough time on the track. The pair raced in contention until, Gold Finch, finally took the lead and finished ¾ of a length ahead of the runner up.
The third place was acquired by Minglers Jaguar, son of Duke Special, out of, Minglers View who is trained by T. Simmons.
The Grade OR Caffreys Grand Prix Trophy - Heat 2 took place at the same track earlier. It was triumphed by the P. White trained black hound Imperial Boy.
The son of Westmead Joe, out of Dukeries Lily, raced as the evening’s favourite and delighted the punters with his fabulous pace. He completed the 680 metre course in 42.37 seconds.
Fabulous Pin, daughter of Bombastic Shiraz, out of Fabulous March, finished behind him by a considerable margin of 6 ¾ lengths in 42.91 seconds.
This distance was large and despite her best effort, she could not make up for it in the final stages of the race.
Mill Luciano, son of Ace Hi Rumble, out of Droopys Finola, finished the race in 43.01 seconds. He finished third, 1 ¼ lengths after Fabulous Pin.
Farloe Tango and Newinn Rocket battled it out in the Grade OR William Hill Puppy 480m Trophy. The two hounds raced in contention, and delivered an outstanding race.
Farloe Tango, trained by Charlie Lister, raced as favourite with odds of 4 to 6, and narrowly claimed the finish. It was a close run between him and Pat Rosney’s Newinn Rocket.
Farloe Tango raced with all his might, and was the motivated runner. He managed the victory by ½ a length. He finished in 29.33, whereas Newinn Rocket completed the race in 29.37seconds.
The third place was acquired by Teena Marina, who completed the track in 29.91 seconds.
