Gold Finch to strike in Carling Sprint Trophy at Nottingham
Gold Finch’s recent improvement has made many pundits believe that she can come out of her lean patch in Nottingham’s Carling Sprint Trophy, to be held on Monday, August 27, 2012.
The black b***h has plenty of experience under her belt, and knows Nottingham’s track very well. After finishing third in a short-distance race at Peterborough, the maverick b***h returned to this venue with a lot of expectations, but failed terribly.
She was well beaten and as a result, could only seize the fourth spot behind Dromana Max. An embarrassing loss, however, did not affect Gold Finch’s confidence, as she raised her game to secure the runner-up position last time around.
It was a decent performance by P. Broome’s trainee, who ran well right through the race, although she failed to trouble the leading runner.
The daughter of Tyrur Lomu has got plenty of attention following an improved show last time. If she continues in the similar fashion, her chances of stealing the show will be quite bright tonight.
Among her rivals are: Clomantagh Rock, Delwood Roko, Munster Hayes, Rushmoor Andy and Tynwald Nemesis. The 305 metres open race is due to begin at 21:52 GMT. It has a cash prize of £150, which is reserved for the successful hound.
Clomantagh Rock is an experienced hound, but his current form does not fascinate. He collected embarrassment at Oxford, before a couple of awful defeats at Romford lately.
Tynwald Nemesis too was not terrible on her last two trips. The audience at Nottingham saw her only getting the better of the back marker last time out. Munster Hayes needs something special to open his account at this level.
Rushmoor Andy won a couple of trial-races lately, but it is still unsure whether he will be able to carry forward his momentum in this kind of tough competition. Delwood Roko is currently going through a bad patch, and his recent efforts were not solid by
any means.
Almost all the contestants are not in good form at the moment. So, the punters should choose Gold Finch - someone with a recent good performance. Good luck to all the runners.
