Gold Update: Betting preview- World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational
 The raging Tiger is back and this time it’s for his title of defending champion at the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
The world No.1 is seriously threatened, because of his recent performances at the events, in which he made the cut. His name could not make it to the Top 20 even!
However, Tiger wants to repeat the spectacular history again. He has been proving himself again and again, by staying unbeatable at World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational. He has won seven times, leaving the rest three editions within Top 3. His last victory was with lead of four shots against Padraig Harrington and Robert Allenby in August 2009.
Moreover, Tiger Woods has not performed to a satisfactory level; in fact, he finished with the 23rd position on the 139th British open 2010.
According to the analysts, despite the fact that Tiger Woods’ is the seven times defending champion at World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational, he has very few chances of winning the title. Keeping in view his putting, which is in the phase towards improvement and his defeat at seven different events, there are chances that he might even lose his number 1 rank to Phil Mickelson or Lee Westwood.
Moving toward the betting favourites;
Lee Westwood
This season seems to belong to the Europeans and no doubt, Lee Westwood will carry on the legacy. He is the winner of the US open 2010, which took place in June and the runner up at the British open 2010.His top 2 finishes does not  end here. They continue till the Augusta National GC and the Players Championship.
Regarding his performance at this course, he finished five times in top 20s, came second in 2008 and was the top 9th in 2009. On the whole, he is the right full contender for the crown.
Luke Donald
Luke Donald finished at the third position in the RBS Canadian Open, 2010, when asked about his performance, he said he was not satisfied with it; in fact he wanted to win the next tournament. Did he refer the next tournament to World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational? If yes, then a more aggressive game is expected from the player.
According to the experts, Luke Donald’s game is very satisfactory, as there are no major weaknesses in it and his expertise with the irons is just superb. As far as the course is concerned, hitting greens in regulation is the key to the top of the leader board and this is what Luke Donald is good at.
Jim Furyk
Another Firestone lover; Jim Furyk: for him Firestone Country Club is his favourite venue and this claim can be justified by his past performances. He finished 52nd in 2009, 27th in 2008, 3rd in 2006 and 24th in 2005. Although there are fluctuations in his results, but his performance this season with 2 victories and a couple of top10 finishes surely puts him third on the list of betting favourites.

Rickie Fowler

The number 3 according to the GIR percentage will be making his debut over here on the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational. He finished Top 2 at the Memorial Tournament held in U.S. Moreover, his overall achievement in these years includes four Top 2 finishes at several occasions.
Tiger Woods & Phil Mickelson

The last on the list is Tiger Woods’ because of his poor performance throughout the season and Phil Mickelson, due to his failings to cope with the alternations done on the course. Phil Mickelson was on the list of Top 40s for five times at the same venue but could not set a mark. Chances are that he will continue with his regular performance and won’t disappoint the bettors by making it to the top of the leader board.
This was the betting preview according to which Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Jim Furyk and Rickie Fowler will top the charts; however, the results can be different only if the defending champion plays with more concentration and with better putting. Leave the rest to the winds!
