  1. Yes there is, not Placier, But hard rock deposit, harder to get at living! Most easy gold haas been gotten , only the hard stuff remains!

  2. The experts say that only 1/10th of all the gold in Alaska has already been found. Yes, you can find big nuggets and flakes. You can find gold just walking near a stream or in a big gold mine so you never know.

  3. The rush for Alaskan gold started in 1897, it's commonly referred to as the Klondike Gold Rush.  Like the California Gold Rush it initially drew in a great deal of people looking to get rich as fast as possible.  It soon became apparent that panning for gold was hard work, and that Alaska got REALLY cold in the winter.  With only a few months out of the year that gold could be successfully panned, it didn't take long for people to give up.  There's is still plenty of gold left, the spring thaws send new gold into the rivers every year.  The real gold in Alaska doesn't glitter at all, it's ugly, hard, and very tasty.  Crab is where the money is in the great white north, but it takes a special breed of people to harvest that dangerous bounty.

  4. Absolutely there is. I was just there and found some myself, also my husband found a garnet stone in the river. It is everywhere up there. You would have to work so hard to make a living at it. You might find a big nugget but I think that the largest one that was ever found there was only the size of a pea. What you find is small flakes, but it is neat to get it. Do not think you will get rich. There is gold in the Bible read that and you will be very rich, if you take it to heart and trust God.

  5. mabye probably **** loads in the dangerous parts but thats always how goes lol

  6. People pan on public lands here all the time. It's a lot of fun but the odds are you're never going to get rich on it.

The largest gold nugget ever found was 294 troy ounces worth about $240,000 at todays prices.
