If you were to wear a gold weding dress, does it have to coordinate with the rest of your wedding colors? Or is the gold accepted as a 'neutral' and the dress doesnt have to factor in with your wedding colors?

  1. I think the gold would look beautiful with the green and lilac.  But I would worry about how it would look with the yellow.  I feel like yellow and the gold in that dress are rather close.  So you might want to replace yellow with something else.  Try a bolder yellow like marigold.

  2. the dress is very nice,

your dress isn't very important with colors of the wedding you more or less match everything with the bridesmaids dresses ur suppose to be different ur the bride i think the color and the dress is gorgeous go for it do what ur heart tells you its ur day...

  3. I think the sage green and lilac would go beautifully with that dress, but it's hard to imagine the canary yellow looking good with it. I think if you're having a gold dress you should stick to just two colors and they should be colors that do not compete with the gold.

  4. OMG! A girlfriend of mine is wearing a dress almost identical to that! It's a beautiful dress.

Her color is chocolate so she won't be matching the rest of her wedding colors. But then again, a white dress doesn't exactly match anything else so go with whatever you want!

  5. If you have a gold wedding gown, then your bridal party should be neutral...such as cream or chocolate brown.  No bright colors...too glitzy them....

  6. First, my dress was gold too.

The ONLY thing I would be concerned about is that canary yellow.  I think the green and lilac will be fine, but the yellow....oy vey.

You'll have to have them side by side.

Check out Davids Bridal...they have a ton of gold dresses and you can put them up a yellow dress to see if they fit.

  7. Yes, it does need to coordinate or it just looks weird.  My dress will be gold and burgundy.  I'm getting married between Christmas and New Years so all that holiday color goes with the dress.  Gold has way too much yellow in it to be a neutral. However, the yellow is the only thing that may not work.

Having looked at your dress, yours is much less intense than I was expecting, but you really have to look to see if your chosen yellow would work.

  8. i think it is fine. i with the other color you chose it would go fine! I think gold is accepted as a neutral. Also your gold isnt really a dark dark gold. So it would work! It is a great dress. Good Luck

    Have a great wedding

  9. I think that dress would go well with anything. . . except yellow.

  10. The answer to this is probably dependent on what type of material the dress is made from and the shade of gold.  I think that it can be a neutral depending on the shade and type of material.

  11. The dress is very pretty and i love the color! Sage and Lilac great, not yellow.

  12. It depends on the shade of gold you are talking about. A lot of dress shades labeled as "gold" vary greatly in hue.

What colors did you have in mind for your wedding? I think that a lot of colors would definitely work and the gold would be considered "neutral."

Or, if you want to tone it down just a little, you could always go with a champagne colored wedding gown. However - I think the gold will blend nicely with everything.

EDIT: With the gold color you might want to stay away from pastel colors. I would try doing a darker shade of purple and green. I think that the darker colors will look better with the rich gold color.

  13. My dress was ivory with gold trim.  I did not coordinate it with the other wedding colors and used it as a neutral color and it looked great.  But I do have to agree with the previous posters that it kind of depends on the material of the dress and intensity of the gold.
