Golden Chieftain to continue with the winning phase for the stable by bringing back the Badger Ales Chase

The Tizzard family has been phenomenal ever since the jump season took off, and is now sending one of their best, Golden Chieftain, for the Badger Ales Chase at Wincanton race course on Saturday. They were extra ordinary at the Exeter meeting, where they
gave a hard time to the much acknowledged trainer, Paul Nicholls.
The six-year-old, Cue Card, landed for them the Grade 2 Sportingbet Haldon Gold Cup Chase, and that too by the hefty margin of twenty-six lengths. The arch rival’s entry, Edgardo Sol, ended as the runner-up.
On the same card, the father and son team captured the Gain Horse Feeds Novices’ Chase with their under charge, Theatre Guide. They defeated the favourite entry, Hinterland, to the second position.
The seven-year-old bay gelding, Golden Chieftain, who has to bring back for them the next target, has won two out of the seven outings of the 2012 campaign.
The favourite entry won the Bathwick Tyres Bridgwater Novices’ Chase on 8th March, 2012 at Wincanton race course over three miles and 1 ½ furlongs. Under the stable rider, Joe Tizzard, Tikkanen’s Irish bay gelding defeated Timmies Gone by a massive
thirty-six lengths.
His next and most recent all out performance was in the Richard Davis Memorial Handicap Chase on 24th October, 2012 at Worcester over two miles and four furlongs.
Bestowed by the supervision of the same team, the Brocade Racing owned won by good fourteen lengths with the same jockey.
The gelding out of, Golden Flower, has raced and won at almost the same distance that he will have to race over on the weekend, three miles, a furlong and 110 yards.
The jockey, excited at the prospect, commented:
“He seriously impressed me when winning at Worcester last time out and although his handicap mark has risen and mirrors his hurdling ranking, the focus is on jumping,” he said.
“He feels much better this season and should run well. Admittedly, Paul Nicholls will take all the beating with Michael Le Bon who has been set out for this race.”
About the other racing possibility, Theatrical Star, the connections stated:
“He ran well first time out at Exeter and should be in the frame this Saturday in the totepool Rising Stars Novices’ Chase. It’s a tough contest with David Pipe-trained Dynaste entered.”
