Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever or Crossbreed of the two?

Question

Which is better? I heard that the golden retriever and the labrador retrievers are good family pets. But, how about the crossbreed? I really can't decide on which one to choose. Any ideas?

P.S. please provide photos if possible. I'm looking at the personality of the dog, build, intelligence and looks.

A crossbreed of the two would be a mutt. That means the mutt could have more golden qualities or more lab qualities. There's no solid information on mutts. Take a look at goldens and labs and try to stay away from mutts unless you adopt them from shelters.

Hey, OMG I love both those dogs. they are really good friends. It is a tough desicision. My friend has 2 labradours (Bonnie and Roxy) and my aunty has a golden retreiver. (Hollie) They are so similar with personalities. Both really loyal and friendly. Which ever you get you'll have a great time!!! Golden Retreivers have a longish silky coat where as labradours are short haired. So it depends if you want to spend time brushing it's coat. Also labs come in Blonde (gold), black and brown (Chocolate) where as golden retrievers suprisingly come in gold and you can get a creamy gold. Labs are known to be slightly hyper but they are still both lovable.

Edit: Also both dogs are known to be good with children especially golden retrievers!

We have 2 labs, and there are 5 others in our immidiate family. All of which are great dogs, especially with all the kids in the family. Our male is black and 115lbs & is very gentle although he has a big fear of storms & our female is white & 90lbs, she's a sweet dog but can be stubborn...I think that's just a female to female thing though.

2 of our neighbors have Goldens, both great with kids, one says theirs isn't good on taking for walks and such and barks too much and the other she walks every single day and I don't really ever hear it.
