Golden State Warrior’s Monta Ellis - Ten best games of the 2010-2011 season (Part-1)
Although the Golden State Warriors failed to clinch a playoff berth this season, however their mercurial shooting guard Monta Ellis had a dominating season with the ball.
Well known for his incredible speed and agility, which has earned him the nickname “The Mississippi Bullet", Ellis bewitched the league this season with his ability to land difficult shots and his speed in transition, making him one of the most influential
players in the league.
In fact the player, who was awarded the Most Improved Player in 2007, was one of the main reasons Warriors finished among the top offensive teams of the season. However,
due to lack of substantial star power, the sharp-shooter fell short of marshalling his team into the post-season. His ten best games of the season are as follows.
27th October vs. Houston Rockets
The 25-year-old guard truly had an amazing night with the ball as he retaliated stoutly against the formidable assault from the Rockets. Blistering away tying a career-high
46 points, Ellis powered the Warriors to an exhilarating 132-128 victory. Ellis was brilliant from the word go, starting with 17 points in the first quarter to put the Warriors on the frontline. Despite of an aggressive fight back by the Rockets, the perpetual
scoring machine kept the Warriors assault intact and led his team towards a magnificent win in a high scoring extravaganza.
3rd November vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Playing at the ORACLE Arena, Ellis had another top scoring performance. Pitched up against the likes of Zach Randolph, Rudy g*y and one of the most assertive team on the
glass, Ellis erupted with a game-high 39 points as he propelled his team to a thrilling 115-109 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. The shooting guard also supported the team with 8 assists and 9 rebounds to outshine the super effort of the Grizzlies’ starters.
He was especially unstoppable in the last 12 minutes of play and smashed the opposition with 17 points to mount a vociferous fight back.
15th November vs. Detroit Pistons
On 15th November, the Detroit Pistons arrived at the ORACLE Arena to face off the Golden State Warriors. Monta Ellis landed a game-high 27 points including two
blistering blows from downtown as the Warriors withstood an aggressive late charge to seal an enthralling 101-97 victory. Ellis scored 24 points in the first half of the game to procure a massive 65-42 lead, which eventually proved to be the difference on
the night.
19th November vs. New York Knicks
The prolific shooting guard racked up a game-high 40 points to put the Warriors on the frontline. However, his super effort proved to be insufficient against the forceful
assail from the New York Knicks.
