It was very difficult to pick a team in the first half as it was a one point game late in it. The Warriors took the lead in the closing moments of the first half and never looked back as they outscored the Wolves by 10 in the third
period and then held them off in the fourth for a win.
Andrei Kirilenko scored all the first 7 points for the Wolves as they went up 7-4 early in the period. A Klay Thompson free throw for the Warriors evened out the score at 7 and he fired in a three pointer moments later to put them
ahead on 12-10. Later on, an Ezeli turnaround hook shot left the Warriors trailing 16-17. The Wolves started to pull away later in the period and a 6 nil spree near the end of the quarter had them leading 27-22 at the end of the period.
Wolves started the second period well and were up 35-26 after Alexey Shved dropped a three pointer. They continued to pull ahead and pushed their lead to 44-32 after Dante Cunningham made a jumper. Warriors responded with an 8
nil scoring spree that reduced their deficit down to 40-44. The Wolves were leading 50-46 two minutes from halftime when the Warriors sprung into action with a 7-0 burst as Warriors went into halftime leading 53-50.
Warriors carried on their good work with an 8-2 run at the start of the third period that put them up 61-52. Luke Ridnour nailed a three pointer for the Wolves to reduce the deficit down to 60-65. But the Warriors kept pulling
ahead and a Thompson jumper had them up 72-60. GSW led 82-69 by the end of the period.
Wolves outscored the Warriors 29-24 in the final period but it was not enough to chase them down on the night. A Carl Landry free throw put the Warriors up 90-76 early in the final quarter. Minnesota kicked off an 8-0 run to make
it a three point game at 89-92, but the Warriors kept their cool and finished the period with a 6-2 run to close the game at 106-98.
