Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry done for the season - NBA Update

Things didn’t go according to the plan for Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry this season. The team is out of the post season race and the player has been out the team through most of the regular season.
Ever since suffering from the season jeopardizing sprain in right ankle he kept on appearing in Warriors games, sitting on the bench in civilian clothes, watching and mentoring rookies. But off the court he has been pushing his
limits. Curry has been going through a rigorous rehabilitation routine with the trainers in a hope that he might be able to get fit. But this never happened and the guard has finally given up on entertaining any further hopes.
On Wednesday night before the Los Angeles Lakers game he finally accepted that he is done for the season.
"I've been fighting every day with the trainers about how fast I can get back on the court," Curry said. "They're keeping me patient. It's not something I like to hear, but I understand the process. The decision was pretty much
made for me, so I had no choice but to accept the situation”.
Curry has missed 40 games in this season and he sprained the same ankle four times. The Warriors have struggled in his absence, especially after his back court partner was also traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the mid season. With
David Lee also done for the season and Andrew Bogut still not ready to play, the Warriors have started with as many as four rookies recently.
With nothing put pride to salvage in the regular season, Golden State general manager Larry Riley finally put a full stop to the question of Curry’s return on Tuesday after the practise session.
Curry first sprained his ankle at Sacramento during an exhibition game on December 20 and then reinjured it against Chicago Bulls on December 26. He then rolled his ankle on February 22 against Phoenix Suns and the most recent
was against the Dallas Mavericks on March 10.
The franchise believes that Curry will be completely fit to play within a month and with ample time to rest and recondition in the off season, his chances of an injury less next season look bright.  The combo guard has averaged
14.7 points, 5.3 assists and 3.4 boards in 26 games this season and with Bogut and Lee holding the front court next season and rookie sensation Klay Thompson to accompany him in the back court, the Warriors can become a formidable proposition in the West.
