Golden State Warriors interested in signing Brandon Roy – NBA Update
After Brandon Roy made the official announcement regarding his desire to return back to the NBA, several teams may be lining up suitable offers to lure in the All-Star.
One of the teams interested in bringing in Roy are the Golden State Warriors and they could definitely benefit from his services.
“I told (Roy) when he was amnesty-ed (by Portland) … ‘I hope this isn’t it for you. Make sure this isn’t it. He’s said publicly he wants to come back, so I’ll start to talk to him. It depends how everything goes for us and what
his expectations are and all of that. But absolutely I’ll talk to him.” – Warriors General Manager, Bob Myers.
If the Warriors are able to bring in Roy to play alongside Stephen Curry the duo can be a force to reckon with in the back court.  With his ability to shoot the ball and be a second option on the floor, he might even make a deadlier
combo with Curry then Monta Ellis did.
Another interesting thing to watch would be how Roy would complement the front court which contains the likes of David Lee, who probably was the best player for Warriors during the regular season, and also the ever so present Andrew
Bogut.
Roy averaged 19 points per game in his career ever since he was drafted back in 2007 and had won the honour of being an All Star three times during his time in the NBA.
Roy announced before the start of the season, following a lockout, that cartilages between his knees has degenerated to an extent that he would not be able to continue his career.
However his desire and love for the game of basketball could not keep him away from long. Roy first expressed his desire to return to basketball back in February when he was heard echoing the thought that it is too hard to stay
away from the game and the latest came just a few days back.
But the big question at the moment is not whether the 27 year old can still play; the more intriguing question is how long will he be able to do it?
And will it be worth to make a return after facing a career threatening condition which forced him into early retirement.
