Golden Tempest keen to keep up good record at Kempton
Two of Golden Tempest’s total three victories have come at Kempton racecourse. She even broke her maiden over there. Apart from triumphs, her other trips to this venue had also been impressive enough. For those, who believe that track factor matters a lot
in a runner’s career, there is a good news that the Eve Johnson Houghton trained bay filly is going to run over the 1-mile course of Kempton once again. This time, she will compete for the title of 32Red Casino Handicap (Div I) on Monday, September 24.
The surface is standard that she has experienced for multiple times in her 23-race career. Thus, the four-year-old veteran sprinter will compete confidently against eight rivals, exploiting the situation well.
Moreover, the Irish filly is coming straight from an outstanding success of Sandown, and she is having a great momentum at the moment. These are the factors that make her the strongest candidate for today’s marathon.
The daughter of Clodovil out of Honey Storm accomplished a grand victory on September 14. That was the Hwfa Williams Handicap (Div I), held at Sandown. Despite being an underdog, she made a stunning upset.
Earlier on August 9, the skilled sprinter had registered a runner-up rank in the Slug And Lettuce O2 Arena Handicap.
Overall, the Rathasker Stud bred filly has showed off her class on different occasions. Her career chart is adorned with a number of decent performances, though not victories.
Thus, we have every reason to expect a convincing performance from Golden Tempest. Her trainer is too hopeful of her big show. Most of the punters have staked their money on her.
Despite all these factors, we must not overlook Copperwood who too poses to be a potential candidate for victory. The Mark Johnston trained chestnut gelding gained a lot of confidence by winning the Cheshire Oaks Handicap (Div II) on September 15.
Prior to this, the experienced horse registered a classic triumph each in June and July. He is going to visit Kempton after a long time.
By and large, a fiery battle between the gelding and the filly is imminent with latter having higher chances to thrive. Good luck to the both.
