  1. You should be fine with those three, and good on you to plan and research before buying.

These are the only fancies I would keep in breed-specific tanks:

    -Bubble-eyes

    -Celestials

Some people put telescopes (like your moor) in breed-specific tanks but they tend to do fine. Just make sure he gets enough food. Mine is in with an oranda and a ryukin and I feed the two fatties with one hand and the moor with the other -- he just doesn't see the food otherwise.

Make sure you moor-proof your tank though -- no sharp decorations, and don't do ornaments at all. Silk plants are better than plastic. I cover my filter intakes with sponges too:

That way the eyes won't get caught or scratched.

Are you going to go barebottomed on your 55g? I would recommend it -- take it from someone who just spent 2 hours this weekend making her 35g barebottomed. Gravel is a pain to vacuum and an even bigger pain to take out when you change your mind. Barebottomed means you won't see planaria either -- disgusting little creatures that live on the debris that accumulates in gravel.

Here is a link to a beautiful barebottomed goldie tank:

Hers is a 90g, but your 55g could look just as nice. Notice that she let algae grow on the bottom of hers to make a carpet effect, very pretty! Something to think about at any rate -- I'm jsut telling you because before finding thegab.org I thought all tanks HAD to have gravel. Now all of my tanks are barebottomed and maintenance is a breeze, and they always look clean and shiny too.

Good luck to ya with your planned tank!

  2. Well you will be able to have the fancies with most other fancies but NEVER! with the natural types because they will out compete them for food.

the problem with lion heads is that they have no dorsal fish so they can not swim properly, so they will not be getting that much food.

now back too the black moor and the Veiltail they will get on quite well together, because they have basically the same needs and anatomy, just that the black moor has telescope eyes this will not be a problem though

so you can have the black moor with a Veiltail but I would skip the lionhead and get a oranda they are just like the Veiltail but they have a bramble head growth so they look like chinese dragons!

Good luck & happy fish keeping!

  3. nah they will go along just fine black moore its its genetics to look like that but won't affect its eyesights.

    kOi keeper & goldfish keeper.
