Goldfish eggs? (If that's what they are!)

There's lots of little white things on the gravel in my nana's goldfish tank. The smaller goldfish has also spent the past few days in their cave. The little things are scattered everywhere, they are about 3mm in diameter and look a bit like frogspawn but the inside bit is white not black. The outside is transulecent. I think they are eggs - any advice?

  1. In my experience the whole of the egg is usually a golden translucent colour, not much bigger then a pinhead. Any white colouring on fish eggs is usually fungal growth. You can add treatment for that if you want to.

If any do hatch then the parents will most probably eat them, unless you can give them away.

  2. they sound like fish eggs but iam surprised they have'nt been eaten.

  3. Hate to put a dampner on this but have you got live plants because they could also be snails. hese are like frogspawn translucent and white inside but these can become a pest, however this just another answer. I have these in 2 of my tanks.

  4. First off, does she have more than one goldfish in the tank?  Do you know that one is a male?

If there is no male in the tank the eggs will not hatch, you can just remove them during the next cleaning.

If you do not want the eggs just remove them.

  5. Yes!

    They are eggs!

What you should do is not scare the goldfishes.

Leave them alone and just give them food.

  6. ok here is what u do tank the eggs and pu them in another tank

then get the accesories like the air pump

ok and put lots of plants in there for the frys can hide

let the eggs hatch and when they hatch remove all the eggs that r white

over 10 days remove all the frys that r devormed and put them in another tank do this same procedore after 30 days too

when the goldfish get big enough put the goldfish back with the parents

  7. From what I know that sounds like gold fish eggs. Sometimes they may look different depending on what type of gold fish it is.
