Goldfish ich or breeding tubercles?

My black moore goldfish has breeding tubercles. But I see a couple of white spikey dots on his back but none on his tail. He is very active and I am cycling my tank. Is this ich? if so can you tell me what to do?

white spots is a definite sign of ich, but it may just be a side affect of breeding tubercles. does he rub himself against anything? he may even have both! D= if i were you i would investigate both diseases further just by googling them. when you do start treating the disease make sure you either get a quarantine tank or make sure the medications your using wont effect the rest of the environment your display tank is in.

Breeding tubercules are only on the gill plates and usually only seen in early spring.
