  1. Fancy goldfish will grow to smaller than say, a comet goldfish. But they will still get pretty big. - that "they grow to the size of the tank" idea is ludicrous. If the fish stops growing 'cause it's kept in a tank that's too small, its insides will continue to grow and it will basically die a pain-filled death.

While a comet goldfish will grow to 1-2 feet, a ryukin, bubble eye or bubble head (lion head) goldfish will get much smaller. The rounder the fish, the smaller it will get. But it'll still be pretty big in the body. Ryukin goldfish, for instance will get about 6-8 inches, but they'll be as big as a softball all the way around!

As far as how many varieties of goldfish? there are at least 19 goldfish varieties. Here's a good list of them: http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/ftypes.html

  2. I know there are black moor goldfish, which are black with big, protruding eyes. There are also lionhead goldfish that look like their brains are popping out. There are some sort of goldfish (forget the name) that have big blown-up cheeks. An actually, a goldfish can get large no matter what size of tank, so don't buy a small tank just for the fish to be small, because you'll end up with a cramped and unhappy fish.

Here are pretty much all of them with a little information on each of them. The fancies generally stay smaller, 6-8 inches, but one will still need a 30 gallon tank.

  4. common goldfish, comets, shubunkins, wakin and jikin they get very huge and long.

Ryukin, veitail, oranda, ranchu, pearl scale, fantail, telescope, bubble eye, Lionhead, ping pong  they also get big

if you want smallest there are none

  5. get a pet bird

  6. i know there are normal goldfish and fancy goldfish. but goldfish dont really come in sizes. they grow to fit the size of there tank so you can get a really big tank and you will have a really big goldfish. or you can get a really small tank and you will have a really small goldfish. hope i helped.
