Goldikova to break from the first stall and Strong Suit drew the eleventh for the Breeders’ Cup Mile

Strong Suit’s connections were convinced that on 5th November 2011 at the Breeders’ Cup Mile Goldikova will find herself cornered due to the now much more capable and improved three-year-old Strong Suit along with a little down the line performance
of Goldikova during the season.
However, the developments that came way regarding the allocation of the stalls has put Strong Suit in potential trouble. Thus the table, which according to the connections of Strong Suit was their way round, has been turned now.
Richard Hughes said: "I'm very disappointed”.
It has been reported that last time it was in 2008 that Goldikova got such a favourable spot to break from. The connections are ecstatic over the news and are already considering it as a positive omen for the fourth straight win for Goldikova at the Breeders’
Cup. She has already won the title in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The exercise rider for Goldikova for the last three years, Thierry Blaise said that this stall position will find Goldikova on the inside and thus, she will have to travel less as compared to the rest. The jockey, Olivier Peslier will also find racing through
the track easy. as there will be more room available for the pair.
The most anticipated rivalry for this Mile was the tug between Strong Suit and Goldikova because the rest of the lineup still has untapped potential to improve further.
Thus, the crux of the race and its charm has been pulled away to an extent due to the diverse digits of the stalls assigned to the two racing wonders.
Next to Goldikova, stall two will have Aidan O’Brien’s Zoffany stationed, and Byword, trained by A Fabre will be seen coming out from the eighth gate.
As the contestants in all are thirteen, the remaining candidates include William Mott trained Courageous Cat, John Shirreffs’s stable horse Mr. Commons, the United States star Gio Ponti who will be representing Christophe Clement.
Todd Pletcher’s under charge Sidney’s Candy will start racing the track from the tenth trap. The track will also find Court Vision, Compliance Officer and Turalllure fighting for the wire.
How effectively will Goldikova use her positioning and how productive will Strong Suit’s improvement turn out to be will only get disclosed after the race.
