Question:

Goldstar Room Air Conditioner problem...

So I'm barely noticing this but my Air Condtioner seems to turn on and off more than usual. Before coming onto here to put up my question, someone else told me this is normal to save energy while another said this wasn't. My AC doesn't have a display to see the temperature, just a dial nob to 1-10 on 10 being the coolest of course and another setting for Hi and Low speed for the fan. It does throw cool air but only for about 2min and then it will shut off and the fan will be the only thing blowing for about 5min until again the cool air kicks in. The filter is clean and the coils too as well. Does it need any additional cleaning from within? Also not sure if it's because I've changed the location of my AC to another window in the same room which has the sun contantly hitting on the AC more than it did on it's original location that was placed in. If so, will the sun have any affect on it's performance? Perhaps I may need to put back the AC to the window where the sun was less to be hitting it directly.
