Club America striker, Christian Benitez has revealed his love for the French Ligue 1 and has said that he has been negotiating with Ligue 1 clubs of late in order to make a move this summer
After http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillermo-Ochoa-c15350 (Ajaccio goalkeeper), Club America may offer a new talent to the Ligue 1. 25-year-old Christian Benitez is currently in the form of his life. However, the same statement can be said for the Ecuador striker if we go back to the past.
The stocky striker has scored 21 goals in 48 games for his national team and it is surprising to see that no European club has made an approach for him.
Radio Rumba Deportiva de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ecuador-c2889 claims that many French clubs are now starting to notice the striker’s progress and the player could see himself return to European football in the summer transfer window.
Things are certainly moving after Benitez himself admitted of contact with clubs in France, Spain and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
“There may be opportunities in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 and in France. There is also a proposal of an English club.”
Benitez’s only spell in Europe came when he was sent on loan to English Premier League side Birmingham for the 2009/2010 campaign. In that spell, the striker scored just 3 goals in 30 league appearances. However, many argue that the striker’s tally would
have been far better if he had quality players around him.
And Benitez is also keen on setting the record straight in Europe.
“Joining Europe would be something very good for me. It would require much discussion and if all goes well, the club (America) will not block my departure.”
The native of Quito was simply a terror in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 where he has adjusted quickly and is doing what he does best which is scoring
lots of goals.
In 28 games, Benitez has scored 18 goals which is a phenomenal tally.
Though many Ligue 1 clubs won’t risk signing him instantly, the striker should be getting a trial at a club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 this summer before finally returning to European football.
