My driver has a weighted club head and a 75 gram weighted shaft. My woods are Taylord Made 580s with a 60 gram shaft and them seem really light to me.

Should I mach my driver shaft weight and my woods shaft weight?

  1. no since todays drivers are standard at 46 inches . best way to match . get shaft butt cut to 45 inches . vast majority pro golfer use 44 inch shatfts for accuracy , not one player useses shaft longer than 45 inches . good luck . talk to club fitter this is the advice he will give you . good luck

  2. Alot of times you will have trouble matching the "feel" weight of your driver to your other woods, simply because the weighting in the heads is going to be different.  For instance if you put a 75g shaft in your 3W it probably still wont "feel" the same because of the head.  You need to get both on a Swing Weight Machine and Match each swing weight.  IE if your Driver is a D3 make sure your 3W is too.  This will save you alot of time rather than simply matching total weight of the shafts.
