Golf Etiquette Help?

I was recently at a golf tournament the other day that Tiger Woods was playing at. My buddies and I love Tiger! He is such a great golfer! We support Tiger by buying all his products and going to see him at tournaments.

Every time we saw him tee off or shoot the ball we would scream “Get in the hole!” or “You’re the man!” as loud as we could! We would also make sounds like a camera shutter release clicking whenever Phil Mikelson was putting (I HATE THAT GUY!) Some idiot didn’t think we were very funny said, ”Could you guys shut up? They are trying to tee off!” I couldn’t believe it! I thought this guy was waaaaaaay out of line telling me that. I mean, I paid my money and can cheer for whomever I want to. (I actually know the guy that said this to me. I saw him on the driving range one day at my local course. He sucked and I think he used fiberglass shafts on his clubs. I also heard he is a David Love fan. Phhhh! What a loser he is!)

  1. The game of golf is ALL about focus, concentration and uninterrupted attention to his mindset. To achieve this a golfer needs peace & quiet (really quiet) during the one and a half seconds or so he needs while making his golf swing.

Therefore, the slightest noise, camera flash light or worse people shouting (even in praise) will definitely distract the golfer's attention, which could cause him making a bad shot.

Of course you may shout "Get in the hole!", AFTER he has made the shot, NOT before Or while he is making the shot!

And this is all about one very important etiquette on golf.

  2. Watch "Happy Gilmour" over and over and over again, until you realize that if anyone needs to zip it, it's you.  You have atrocious golf fan etiquette.

  3. LOL you have this sport all wrong.  This is NOT a heckling sport, I think you have been watching too much Happy Gilmore.  If you want to heckle like idiots and where it is accepted then go to a hockey game.

You in fact should have been the one removed from the course.  I'm sorry but you were in the wrong here.

  4. I hate you!

    Get a life!

  5. You're a treat.  If fate has its way and ball with go left, hopefully hit by Mickleson, and hit you in the head, down you will fall, and the ball will bounce of you head and into the fairway, hopefully on 18 Sunday afternoon.  From there Phil will hit it 3 foot for the win, and as you regain consciousness, the first thing you see is Phil holding up the trophy and Tiger crying next to you in the rough.

  6. you said it but It is about you and your behaviour was what you did right?

  7. What a douchebag.  You and your friends were in the wrong, whether you were cheering for Tiger or booing Phil.  If you'd have went up to the marshall, he would have thrown YOU out.

Regardless of what you payed to get in, you still need to hold yourself in a certain regard.  It's called respect, and you weren't showing it to either Tiger (your hero) or anyone else for that matter.

What's worse, it sounds like you're making it all up, which makes you sound like an even bigger bag of douche

  8. I seriously hope this is a joke, it has to be.  If you acted the way you described, you not only should have been thrown from the course, you should have been beaten by both Phil and Tiger.  Really I don't think Tiger wants or needs your help at all.  The only right a person who acted the way you describe would have to be on a golf course is that they have enough money to buy the ticket.  Its to bad that IQ exams cannot be admisitered prior to people buying tickets.

Try it in Augusta sir, see how quick you are escorted out of the town.

  9. call 911

  10. Next time out yell 4 (I'll be watching on tv to see everyone's reaction) hahaha good post!

  11. Ha ha ha, what you forgot your airhorn? If you'd done this for real you'd get the beatdown of a lifetime. Thanks for the 2 points!

  12. Bad form, truly bad.  Don't do that.  These guys golf to feed their families.  Don't mess with that!

  13. i know you don't want to hear this but you are in the wrong. you should be quiet when people tee off. its not baseball, hockey or any other sport in which cheering is ok at all times.

  14. hate to say it but you are also in the wrong, you can boo and hiss phil all you want but not during his stroke.

  15. Are you joking! Emily Post would take one look at this question,  rip off her sensible shoe, and simply brain you with it!  She'd make a mess of her pleated skirt and white gloves.  Bad form dude.  Not a good way to behave at all.

  16. I wish you would get in a hole, and you are not the man if you done that at a tournament you would have been ejected out on your brain (bum) same thing.

  17. You a*****e. You cant just disturb a player like that when he is trying to play! Do you have ZERO respect at all????

How would you feel  if you were trying to play and some ****** was making noise and disturbing you? Yeah, I dont think you would be to happy about that.

    idiot.

  18. I going to put this bluntly you and your friends should be ashamed of the way you acted at this tournament. You are lucky that YOU didn't get thrown out. If you want to scream like idiots then go to another sporting event other than golf where that is the accepted norm. As a golfer who plays in tournaments. I would've had you removed from the gallery. I don't care how much money you payed to go see Tiger. These are Professional Golfers, and this is their livelihood. Would you like someone coming to your place of business and screaming you suck, and I hate you while you were trying to do your job? Of course you wouldn't,so use common courtesy and etiquette in those settings. I really hope you grow up and mature, but you probably won't. So just watch golf on T.V. and then you can yell all the obscenities you wish.

  19. You're a jackass and shouldn't be allowed in tournaments! Wake up stupid.
