Golf Insight: Lee Westwood chases Tiger Woods to Twitter
Lee Westwood is a copycat. First, he copied the title of world number one worn by Tiger Woods and now he has joined Twitter.
Twitter is a social networking website and is used by many celebrities and sports stars to communicate with their fans. On Tuesday morning, Lee Westwood’s public relations manager announced that the veteran was
now on Twitter.
Westy is not the only golfer on the website. Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy, Paul Casey, Graeme McDowell, Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan and Tiger Woods are also part of the famous website. The first tweet send by the world number one became
the centre of attention on Tuesday morning. It was, “"Couldn't let Poulter have all the fun on here. And when Tiger joined, I couldn't let it just be him and Tiger."
Westwood has been chasing Tiger Woods around on the course and now he has followed him all the way to Twitter. However, one thing is certain that the veteran is enjoying his experience with his new hobby. Westy
termed the first-time experience as delighting. He said, "It's a good way of interacting. I've always had a pretty good sense of humour, but it's impossible to show on the course."
Rory Mc Ilroy and Ian Poulter are already on the friends list of the world number one. In a conversation on Twitter, Westy termed the runner-up of Dubai World Championship as ‘sparrow legs’. He wrote this in response
to a statement made by Poulter before the championship of overriding him.
One aspect of the conversation shows the other face of the disciplined veteran: he is humorous and likes to interact with his fans. This is quite the opposite what the former world number one is portraying on
Twitter. Tiger Woods' opening tweets were quite dry and showed least about the player in real.
This is it for the news that states that the world number one has followed the footsteps of Tiger Woods and joined Twitter to keep in touch with his fans and friends. Only last week, Woods made the news of claiming
the membership of the social networking website.
