Golf: Kevin Weeks wins U.S. Kids Golf Instructor of the Year award

Professional Golf Association Director of Instruction, Kevin Weeks has been named as the Master U.S. Kids Golf Instructor of the Year.
The news was confirmed at a press conference in Cog Hill on Thursday morning. Weeks broke the news and said that he was deeply honoured for the great gratitude.
He said, “It is a great honour to once again win this award. Teaching kids the game is such a rewarding experience. I love watching them grow to the point where they can play at a high competitive level. The enthusiasm and the willingness to learn that kids
bring to the lesson tee really makes my job easy and most of all a lot of fun.”
The award was given to him in recognition of his contribution to golf. Every year, U.S. Kids Golf, which runs under the banner of PGA tour, organises an award ceremony in which professionals are nominated by 50 instructors. The selection is done based on
experience and contribution in teaching in the sport.
The purpose of the award is to motivate and salute the professionals who work selflessly throughout the year for promotion of the game.
The 46-year-old has been providing services to the PGA Tour since 1997. He works with competitive junior golfers and as per record, 63 of his students are currently professionals on the PGA and European circuit. Moreover, he has written various publications
and papers on the sport. In 2010, he was nominated as No. 3 on Golf Digest’s ‘Best Teachers In Your State’ list. That was not the first time, as the American has thrice been presented with the ‘Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year’ award.
Apart from Kevin Weeks, Garrett Chaussard was also honoured with contention. Although he did not bag the title, yet he earned recognition for his contributions.
Speaking to the press, Chaussard said, “I am honoured to receive this Honourable Mention distinction from U.S. Kids Golf Foundation. At Cog Hill, I've enjoy working with a host of a great Chicagoland juniors, helping them develop and hone the necessary skills
and overall game required to compete and excel on the course.”
Master U.S. Kids Golf Instructor of the Year award is an excellent way to honour the instructors, who produce players like Justin Rose and Melissa Reid every year.
