Golf Latest: Jean Hugo and Reggie Adams take the lead in the Vodacom Business Origins of Golf
The coin has been flipped and the early leaders have lost their advantage at theVodacom Business Origins of Golf final at Oubaai. Jean Hugo and Reggie Adams have surged to an early lead with a score of three-under par 69
at a par-72 course in Cape Town, South Africa.
The current weather conditions proved suitable for the two players; it has been raining since the morning at Oubaai Golf Club and despite the wet conditions, Hugo smashed a 69 in the final round of the championship, which
is carrying a purse of $1.1 million. Earlier the player who held a course record of 62 on Pretoria Country Club settled with a score of 80 in the first round.
Owing to the weather, Justin Harding who was the last round leader stumbled in the front nine of the course and finished with a score of two-over par 37. This was quite the opposite of his last
round front nine in which he picked up four birdies. On the other hand, the soft greens have proved advantageous for Alan Michell; he managed to keep himself consistent and stable. He carded a score of five-under-par and is enjoying a one stroke lead over
Justin Harding.
Ulrich van den Berg and Ryan Cairns are standing one stroke behind the first group, with a score of three-under par. Van den Berg has recently birdied the 12th hole, while Darren Fichardt has wrapped the round with a score
of two-under par. The player could not deal with the persistent rain, and he missed three shots and carded three successive bogeys in the front nine.
With a dark blue sky hovering over the field, the forecast states that the weather will grow more tumultuous in next few hours. This leads to the deduction that more trouble is about to pour in for the late starters of the
final round of the Vodacom Business Origins of Golf series for 2010. Rain won’t be coming to a stop and the match cannot be further delayed, this means a totally different picture is about to come into view. For more information on what will be happening in
