Golf: Nurse sues Health Central for defamation in Tiger Woods’ case
David Rothenberg has filed a lawsuit against the Health Central Hospital for defamation.
Rothenberg was working as a nurse in Health Central Hospital and he was on duty when Tiger Woods was rushed in by the paramedics after he slammed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant on the night of thanksgiving in 2009.
The nurse was fired for leaking the confidential information to the press, as it is against the code and conduct of the hospital to give away information about a patient.
After two years, Rothenberg has filed a petition against the hospital authorities for firing him without any solid evidence. According to him, someone else from hospitals’ vicinity logged into the system and retrieved the information regarding Tiger Woods.
He has accused the hospital for insulting him in the public without sufficient charges.
Rothenberg addressed a press conference on Wednesday in which he said, “They said it had something to do with Tiger Woods's lab results and my name was on there. I will be honest with you I was scared. And I said, 'I have no idea what you're talking about.
This is not something I do. This is not me. I've been a nurse for 26 years.”
He further added that he had no knowledge regarding the issue, but was certain that some other nurse typed the words ‘Tiger Woods’, ‘Ronald Williams’ and ‘Ernest Smith’ in the system to retrieve the medical records of  the golfer. He emphasised that only
hospital staff knew the aliases of the golfer, which meant that an insider was involved in it.
The nurse even offered a lie detector test, but the hospital staff did not refer to the report projected in it. Moreover, after firing the accused, the hospital management leaked his name to Woods’ attorney and private investigators and instigated a rumour
about the allegation within the entire staff.
In response to the defamation caused by the hospital, Rothenberg has claimed charges worth $130,000 to cover forlorn wages and public humiliation. Moreover, he has asked the authorities to rehire him after the case.
The case has been filed, but the hospital authorities have nothing to say. The spokesperson from the Health Central Hospital was contacted, but he failed to comment on the issue.
What will happen next? Will David Rothenberg win the case and earn his respect or he will be proved guilty by the hospitals' attorney? For more updates, stay tuned to
