  1. I'd guess you definitely lose the third hole as a penalty for the extra club, but I recall Woosnam being docked a 2 or 3 shot penalty for that offence a few years back, so maybe the sentence is stiffer.

    Looking forward to the answer.

  2. You lose the hole

  3. your disqualified

  4. Rule 4-4, "Match play - At the conclusion of the hole at which the breach is discovered, the state of the match is adjusted by deducting one hole for each hole at which a breach occurred; maximum deduction per round: Two holes."

This means that you lose two holes in addition to any you may have already lost. You are 4-down after 2.

You MUST declare a club out of play at that time. If you use that club, you will be disqualified (Rule 4-4c).

  5. You lose one hole for every hole you had the infraction occured, with a maximum deduction of 2 holes. You are now four down.

  6. Shut up and act stupid?  I could have 50 clubs and still be down 2 strokes!

  7. I believe the rule is that you lose a hole for each hole that the infraction occured with a maximum of two holes.  So in this case since you already lost the first two, you now loose the third and you are three down after three.  As far as what to do, take a club out before you tee off at the fourth hole.

  8. Disqualification is not the penalty for having more than 14 clubs in your bag.  The rule says that extra club must be declared out of play by the player to his opponent or fellow competitor 'immediately upon discovery' and, depending on match or stroke play competition, at that point either strokes are added or loss of hole penalties will be assessed.  Disqualification should occur only if the player fails to declare the club or clubs out of play immediately.

  9. So using the logic from the other answerers on here, you could theoretically forfeit the first two holes of your match and then play the rest of the round with 30 clubs?  I didnt check the rulebook on this one, but every format I have ever played, if you have more than 14 in your bag, you get disqualified, end of story.

  10. YOU LOSE

If a player has too many clubs he is DQ'd

  11. Notify your opponent, select a club to be removed, remove it, and you are 3 down.
