Golf Ryder Cup 2010: Dustin Johnson and Stricker declare victory at the singles
United States Ryder Cup team has won two matches and lost one in the 12 singles that have been played in Wales till date. Dustin Johnson defeated Martin Kaymer from team Europe won by 6 & 4 in the singles.
America has declared its first two victories in the 12 singles that are under process at the Twenty ten course at the Celtic Manor Resort. Now it is left with five more to seize the Ryder Cup trophy for the second time in four years. Dustin Johnson is the same player who was found grounding his clubs in the sand bunker and resultantly getting kicked out of the playoff session at the USPGA Championships. The player who won that title was Martin Kaymer from Germany.
Ironically, the captains decided to bring the duo back in the ground, face-to-face in the fourth match in the singles. Martin Kaymer had high expectation but what happened on the course went against their expectations. Dustin Johnson grounded a victory against his competitor by 6 & 4.
On the other side, another American rose and posted the second victory of the 12 singles. Steve Stricker, who was paired up with Tiger Woods in the foursomes and the four balls defeated the player who has earned 11 points in six matches of the Ryder Cup.
Stewart Cink and Rory Mcilroy are currently equal after 17 holes, whereas, Matt Kuchar of US lost the match against Ian Poulter with 5 & 4 points.
Another crucial match is currently in progress between Phil Mickelson and Peter Hanson. Phil is in the lead by 3-up after 9 holes. Ross Fisher is 1 –up after 11 holes against Jeff Overton, whereas, Miguel Angel Jimenez is 2 –up against Bubba Watson after 10 holes. Zach Johnson is currently leading in the 11th match by 2-up and ten more holes are left to decide the winner.
Tiger Woods is 1-up against Francesco Molinari after 10 holes and chances are  that Tiger will win this one.
