Golf: Scratch Golf signs David Duval
2001 Open Championship winner David Duval has been signed up by Scratch Golf as their brand ambassador.
Ari Techner, president of Scratch Golf told the media about the contract. “David has won championships all over the world and has an enormous following in the golf industry. We think he is a fantastic addition to our Tour staff. David Duval is one of the
best players of his generation and we are excited that he has decided to become a part of our company. David has won championships all over the world and has an enormous following in the golf industry. We think he is a fantastic addition to our Tour staff,”
he said.
According to the deal, the former world number one will carry their clubs in his bag and will wear a logo of Scratch Golf on his hat and golf bag. Scratch Golf is a well-known golf gear manufacturer since 2003.
Earlier, Scratch Golf was working with Ryan Palmer, while Duval was in contract with Nike. Since the deal ended with Nike, Duval changed his clubs and switched to Scratch Golf. He started with the wedges and slowly completed the whole set of irons.
Duval, who will play season opener Sony Open 2011 with his brand new kit, seems excited about the deal.
While addressing the press, Duval said, “I am extremely excited to join the Scratch Golf family. I put their clubs in play last season and they really made a difference in my game. In addition to playing the clubs, I look forward to working with the team
at Scratch to develop some new products and grow the brand in the coming years.”
Other than Duval, Cristie Kerr from Ladies Professional Golf Association also carries Scratch Golf wedges in her bag.
